Hard ride on '97 V70 Tdi with Nivomat
Hi Guys
I"m a recent Volvo owner although I grew up with my Dad owning Volvo's since 1970 and have already had my knowledge base widened by this great forum but want to pick your brains. I have a V70 tdi dating from '97 with a 133000 miles and a good history but the ride seems overly harsh/hard on rough surfaces. I have read some posts without gaining much wisdom really and wonder if shock absorbers would be the primary reason. It has the Nivomat system which appears to work well but the car has done a lot of towing over the years and the rear does seem to be more harsh than the front. I have deliberated the Sachs conversion kit as the Nivo's are very dear and I can live without self levelling to be honest. Any guidance would be appreciated! Thanks Paul |

Don't forget that if you change the Nivomat shocks for standard ones then you will need to change the springs aswell as the ones on there at the mament will be to soft for standard shocks as the Nivomats do most of the work on the system set up you have at the moment

Thanks for that. I have bought a conversion kit with shocks and springs from Partsforvolvo online and my mechanic will fit them next week. Is there anything he should know before starting the job I wonder?

As far as I know it should be a straight forward job not heard of any problems
