Get them to take the engine out intact and sell it to you. A lot of scrapyards would even put the engine into your car for a reasonable fee ... maybe. Back in the day. (I really would not look in evilbay for a 240 engine unless I was an engine-identifying expert)

If 'he' never fitted a vent below the tank, you may need to be careful using these nearby.....

Ok, so no ebay! But in terms of what's my cut off year, this is all new to me. Being that the 240 seemed to run forever, am I really only limited to a 70s engine here?
Would it be worth me looking in the UK for a donor engine, and perhaps having it shipped over here to Ireland? And if I looked on this site, is there a particular thread I should start, or ...? Quote:
