I'm unsure on how cloning works, or even if it does at all, but one way is to buy the set of bits from someone who's breaking a whole car, from memory you need the keys, the locks, the ECU and the alarm module from the same car for it to work.

Is it then a straight swap of components no programming required ?
Sounds like a route I could actually do myself ....thanks for that .

What year is the car? If it is a 1996-2001, with the key and separate fob, then all you need is the fobs and the lock alarm module (under the radio), which is linked to the fobs. You can just unplug it from the donor car, plug it to your car and the fobs will work just like that with no need for programming.

However, if you have a 2002-2004 with the flip key, where the fob is incorporated in the key, then you will need the complete lockset (ECU, immobliser module, lock alarm module, all locks, keys and fobs) from a car with the same engine as yours and just swap everything
