Default Help. CAM Shaft Sensor

My 2004 XC90 D5 Auto AWD has just broken down, complete loss of drive.

called out green flag and he seems to think its the cam shaft sensor, is this an easy enough fix that i could do (i have relativly good mechanical knowlage) or is this an expensive garage job? apparently its a cam sensor at/on the cylinder head

When you say complete loss of drive - do you mean engine stopped running (cut out) or engine running but wont move ? Not familiar with Cam sensor issues on the D5. Have you got engine codes that point to C/S ?

I would be checking the aux belt is still there and intacted first,

Does the engine turn over normally or does it sound like its spinning faster than usual??

When was the did it last have belts changed and has there been any strange noises from elt areas lately??
