So, who is going to buy all these ex-company 3 year old T8........ unless they go for bargain prices. I think at 100k miles, these cars will be near worthless!

Don't get me wrong, the new xc is growing on me. I plan to get a nearly new one in 1-2 years time, but I am worried about the long term reliability/serviceability of all the touch screen/TFT/hybrid nonsense... I would of been happier if Apple Inc sorted it all... Not Volvo.
If the T8 hybrid turns out to be unreliable,Volvo will have big problems repairing its reputation.

Yep, it remains to be seen how solid all this new technology is. After a few years it should be clearer.

So, I tried unsuccessfully to load up some pics from my phone the other night, but could only seem to upload one per post.

Now that I've worked out where I was going wrong, here are a few more. Sorry they are crap but they were just very quick phone snaps:

I really like the amber leather/charcoal grey combination. I thought the amber looked a bit too orange in the official promo pics, but it's not. The whole thing feels really nicely put together - detailed touches like the sliding cover for the centre cupholders are great - it's made up of individual leaves which are all veneered in the walnut trim. Catches all feel solid and the doors shut with a (don't shoot me) Germanic thud.

It gets the odd quizzical look from people wondering what it is, but otherwise seems to go fairly unnoticed, which I like. Had the opposite experience with my old Nissan GTR, in which you sometimes felt like you were on show with people taking phone pics and videos etc, which always felt a bit strange. This is much more under the radar. And the boot is bigger.

Have had an email from Volvo offering a session with a product specialist to run through any of the tech that we haven't yet got to grips with, which should be interesting. So far the only glitch I've noticed is that it refuses to keep phone favourites stored between trips, but it could be me.

I also haven't yet worked out how to save seat settings to the key and the same goes for the HUD, which seem to just stay where you last left it regardless of who is driving. But I suspect these might well be user error.

I've briefly tried the park assist pilot, but just found it irritating as it takes twice as long to part with it than without, but I guess it might work for the less spacially aware

Very very nice, thanks for the photos and write up. Love the interior (great choice) works superbly well with the black paintwork. Enjoy! Not many around at all.

In the sleepy Dutch backwater where I live, ive seen 2x First Editions out on the road today (on normal, not dealer plates).

The FE is a €103k car here.

They are going to be popular.

Having ordered our XC90 Inscription last October and now "just" waiting for the cars delivery . Unfortunatly the delivery date has already been changed twice. After reading the road test in this weeks Autocar of the XC90 ,it has not given us much joy either! We did order the car with air suspension but we're rather dissappointed with the overal general test results . Reading between the lines it feels that Autocar magazine is sponsored by JRL !!
Just have to wait for the car and then do our own road test and see if the unbiased "experts" or wright or not !!!!

Hi kiteski
Headingley area. You are welcome to have a look around the car sometime if you want. Are you nearby? I'm guessing you share my passion for skiing?

We got it from Clive Brook in Bradford. Just happened to see they had a bit of info on their website on the new xc90 at the time I started looking. They were good to deal with. Better than Harratts if you ask me. They swapped us out of our original order (no. 1695 of 1927) when the factory hit production delays. We ended up with no. 6. Stupid I know but it feels significant to be in single figures. More or less matches the bank balance now.
