Exclamation HELP! A Marriage NOT Made In Heaven (V8 meets Jag trans.)

Hi All,

For one reason or another, I have decided to join in holy matrimony the B8444S V8 engine with the T2R20680 (6 speed manual) from a F-Type Jag. I have accepted that I'll fabricate the adapter plate to consummate these two unlikely lovers however, I'm seeking advise on what flywheel and clutch assembly is best.

This will likely be the first of many posts as I muddle my way through this abomination of a project. To add to the complexity, the car in question is my 1983 Volvo 245 (B21 Redblock with Pierburg Carb). It's a long road ahead and I hope some of you will buckle in and stay for the ride with me.

PS: this is my first post and I don't really know what I'm doing, cheers!

Patrick

Sounds like a worthy project.

Looking forward to your progress updates.

Not a clue what clutch. I use the questions section of this forum when I'm stuck with technical issues

That should an interesting project. You could have a word with Milner Conversions. They started out a good few years ago doing adapter rings for different engine to gearbox conversions, mainly for the 4X4 lads. I used them back in the early nineties when I got a daft idea about dropping a 2ltr Fiat super mirafiori lump into a Suzuki Samurai. They may be able to shed some light on your question.

Looking forward to your progress reports.
