Aircon (ELAC) compressor repair . Need info about BECM fuses
Hello to all. This is my approach in repairing the high voltage compressor.
I bought the car with a faulty compressor, disassembled it and found one damaged coil, the lower one. I decided to give it a try and rewound the stator. It is a job for the pro, take care. You need special tools to push out the stator and to disassemble the internal ECU boards. You have to achieve good insulation. The stator was tested at 500v. Tried to attach some pics but no way. Here is a link, dunno if it works or needs registration. http://www.volvo-club.ro/topic/26361...sor-ac-hybrid/ Now the system works good but it seems to me that the damaged compressor blown a high voltage fuse (main ac fuse) somewhere in the "BECM" unit. Hell knows where this piece of garbage is. Enjoy the pics. Last edited by comanr; Jul 4th, 2020 at 12:10. |

After 1000km aircon is just perfekt. Thanks for the messages but until I make 30 posts I can't reply (I can only send messages to administrators, forum policy).
As a diagnostic device I use launch. I will try to attach the pics, I have 2 movies also |

Hello! How did it end with the ELAC fuse? Did you fix it or was it not blown?

The repaired compressor works fine. I managed to establish a partnership with a winding factory and I can offer "as new" rewinded compressors.

New rotor in place. The ELAC fuse is inside the high voltage battery but the errors were not because it was broken. ELAC fuse blown is a damaged compressor error. Once you repalce it the error is gone

I have a 2016 V60 D6 PHEV (Twin Engine).
Is the air con compressor mounted on the engine a combined unit? i.e. an electric unit which can also be driven by the aux engine belt when engine is running |

Hi thanks for response.
Vehicle is MY16 V60 D6 Twin Engine. Someone told me it is in the rear of the car but I cant find it. Is it the one which is mounted on the engine and can be driven by aux belt when engine is running? Is this unit also driven by electricity when on electric and engine is not running? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |
