Default BREAKING 1993 240 estate, roofrack, towbar, B200F M47

Right, best get this up here quick-smart. I've just got in a rather sad-looking 245, which was already an MOT failure, for parts. I'm willing to sell the car as a whole to anybody who makes me an offer better than scrap value, but I can't see who'd want to.

1993 245 estate. Good points: It runs and drives, has an aftermarket towbar with one socket and an SDV trade roofrack(the big, galvanised, carry anything anywhere one), and the rad looks to be a fairly recent replacement.

Bad points: Everything else. It's done 250k miles, has rust in the sills, doors and boot aperture, the tan velour interior is a festival of old-people mustiness, bricks-in-the-boot rips and tears, and a veritable festival of sun-brittled, cracked plastics. I've cannibalised the front bodywork for spares, and it was already an MOT failure on emissions, bald tyres, and rear-end bushes. You COULD put it back on the road, but it'd cost as much as a decent 240.

The rack and towbar I'll let go for £50 and £30 each respectively, anything else ask as it's probably broken. I've got all the external trim bar the OSR hockey stick, and the tail lights are unbroken, though the passenger one is faded. tyres are worthless but the steel wheels could be recoverable.

Lucky me is also currently nursing a recently pinned collarbone after a mountain bike accident, so heavy, bulky or awkward bits are probably a no-go though you can remove them yourself. Collection vastly preferred on anything, but again, I can post for a price. I'm located in North Surrey close to Junction 11 of the M25.

No, standard black ones, but I might have one or two tan ones in the lock up. I'll look next week for you

Hi Rhys -

I'm still (from two years ago) after a cat & lambda sensor for my 240 SE - does this car still have them and what do you want for them ? I can come and pick them up if need be. May be interested in the roofrack too.

Many thanks -

Dan C.

Bearing in mind it's an MOT failure on emissions, I think the cat may be toast. I can get £30 for the cat at the scrappy, so if you want to pay that for it and take a chance, you're welcome, but I'd think it's iffy at best. of course, if you just want the pipe to hold the lambda sensor, you can always knock the matrix out of the cat with a big stick

Tell you what, buy the roofrack and I'll chuck the cat and lambda sensor in for £20 on top, I can guarantee the roofrack works at least.

Okay, thanks. Looking for a set of manual window mechanisms.
It's not clear from your original post, but are you selling the front hockey stick trim that goes on top of the bumper?

Default Tan interior

Yes my tan interior smells of elderly residents, it must be the fabric.......anyway
I need a rear floor (behind the seats) everything that fits and hinges on the boards due to my vehicle having it removed complete with the occasional seats for a buyer before I bought it and yes it's tan.............if it's in bad nick I could re carpet I guess.
Also the rear bumper frame (my shroud is good but the bumpers taken a dent)
Also the bumper brackets...............logistics mean I need to plan a visit so could you hold them if poss.

Many thanks

crogthomas: yes, all the front trim is available in chrome.

omc: rear floor is there but would need re-carpeting, it has bald patches and stains. rear bumper and irons should be fine.
