RE: Should I replace thermostat?????
funny this , the old mans s70 has started running cooler , so i think ill change the thermostat , the heater stopped pumping out warm air aswell .
I also had to celebrate the win !! , a wins a win especially over the welsh boyos , of course england were playing against 16 men so were actually two men down on occasion , pah , that would have been a 60 pointer on a good day .

I'll go with the a wins a win, but if we play like that against Ireland there's no way we'll get the Grand Slam....

RE: Should I replace thermostat?????
WOW !!!!!!!!!!!
I posted that message last april and its still alive !!! blimey ! I changed the thermostat and electronic sensor and it cured the problems I was having. I also changed the bottom rad hose as it looked like it was leaking, turned out to be the rad itself :( A new volvo rad, brake discs and pads was needed. The steering rack was also starting to feel ill, I added up the repair bill for this lot and it wrote the car off. I all ready spent well over £1000 in repairs in the first year of having it so enough was enough !! I would have another Volvo though, my dad has a 51 plate V70 which is really nice. Si |

RE: Should I replace thermostat?????
After a few days running, the fuel consumption has dramatically altered, and the engine's much, much smoother. Is there a recommended replacement date of thermostats? I feel this should be covered at one of the service intervals as standard, rather than waiting for it to go. Prevention better than cure. Even if you pay someone to do it you'll save money on fuel within a couple of weeks.
I highly recommend, as the engine's been running rich for some time which will have been detrimental to engine and wallet! I also heard that the cooolant cap should be replaced at say 50K in case it develops cracks and spills its guts - ouch -, any comments? |
