I've an idea in the back of my head that about that year Volvo became interested in a type of rain away coating and started putting on their Glass i could be corrected and am sure others on here will know for sure.

I think the most useless thing on my xc90 is the drivers fold down sunblind because when you fold it down there's a 45 degree slice missing on the furthest outer edge which makes it useless to stop the sun in your face and I think the degree of sun stopped by that blue strip is not enough.

I had an s60 with a three zone graduated strip which was far more effective.

Rain shedding coating might have been on the front driver and passenger door windows?

Thanks for the info guys. I spoke to a couple of suppliers who've said they'll only replace like for like. It's looking like a bit of a lost cause unfortunately!
