Scrapyards near Northampton

Chaps,

Anyone know of any decent (?) scrapyards in the Northampton area. I've tried a few but no 850/V70s to be seen. I don't mind travelling 50 miles or so as long as it's not a fruitless trip!

Hi ya,

I don't know about northamps but you could try the big volvo scrapper at Minworth called CP MOTORS 01827-894983.

Check your Yellow Pages. I used a place in Norfolk, he advertised in our area YPs. Excellent service and he will mail/parcelforce the parts to you.

There are three I know of. One in Nottinghamshire, one in Derbyshire and one in Lancashire. Maybe Notts or Derby would be within 50 miles or so?

First one is in Nottingham (just off the ring road) called SALVO and is purely Volvo and Saab. I believe that they will also mail items to you. Contact number is 0115 970 0995.

Second is called Volsa, again volvo and Saab. Based just off the A52 at Pentagon Island in Derby, number is 01332 380635.

Third one is in Chorley Lancashire, and is about 10mins off the M61. It is called Bromleys Volvo, don't have a number to hand. Sell purely Volvo and do servicing and repairs as well.

All of these insist on taking the cars apart and selling you the spares off the shelf. You will get some sort of guarantee with all of them (it is just 7 days at Salvo). If you want to mouch about the wrecks in the yard to look for some obscure part, then Salvo is the best, although you will have to ask nicely!
