Default Need new heated back window

When i bought a my 740, it had and still has a broken/cracked rear window, it remains as it is up to today, i did get two quotes from repair/replace companies ranging from £340 to £210, (this included the call out, and fitting, and vat) and them telling me that the rear heated window is one of the most expensive part...hmmmm.. really? Where else would i get a the glass so maybe i could fit it myself, or pay someone else to do it, my local scrapyard dont have ANY volvo bits in....since they are brilliant cars, i'm not surprised!

Any ideas where to get a cheap rear window from? (it has the extra mounted stop brake light in the window also)

thanks!

Default Breaker near you

Try 'Read View' in Accrington, they break Volvos and I am sure they would fit it for you if they have one. I travel 60 miles to get there, you are much nearer. They are firstclass easy to talk to guys who know thier stuff.

When I had my window broken I was lucky enough to find another car being broken with the same colour tailgate. The complete tailgate cost me £50 and it took about 30 mins to swap them over.

Thats good, your lucky! theres not many 740's in the scrapyards, if not none at all around where i live! plenty of volvo's though but none of the age of mine :-) rare treasure!
