Cool v70 awd

Have bought a 2000 v70 awd but found the awd system removed the angle drive and propshaft are missing don't know if it is worth getting the parts or just leaving it as it is just got no grip on the front wheels in the wet

Don't understand the lack of grip, as your FWD only ,AWD is I believe now a ordinary V70- just like 100's of others.

It appears to be a common "fix" to angle gear and collar issues to just remove the prop. Its certainly much cheaper. If you have issues with the 200HP going only via the front wheels think about the AWD R owners trying to cope with 300HP which is where I have read most about this "fix"

Unless you have specific needs for AWD I don't believe the cost/effort worth the time/money, as these cars are not permanent AWD.

Cheers

Bob

I'd be surprised if you could find the parts needed.
First gen: AWD was a waste of space - terrible problems with transmission wind-ups. All 4 tyres had to be of the same tread depth all the time.
The AWD only worked once the car was on the move, there were several reports of folks being able to reverse out of their drive.

Probably fine once the car was moving - you could feel the power going towards the rear wheels.

That's why you car has the parts missing.....
