Default XC60 DAB Radio

I am being a little lazy here, as I have not consulted the manual yet...

I had a little play with the DAB radio and set it to scan, and it found nothing, left it for maybe 5-10mins but nothing...

Anyone had the same? I will read the manual and see but any comments welcome...

Do you get a DBA signal on a static DAB radio in the same place? I have a DAB set at home and it will only work in one room of my house (luckily the room I want it to work in)

I find that the DAB signal is very weak where I live, and variable, depending on the weather - high pressure kills the signal

XC60nick,

I had same issue this week with new XC60.
Trying the ensemble scan parked next to my house found nothing.

First time I took the car out, I stopped in open space and tried again.
Scan worked perfectly!

Like most DAB it does seem a bit sensitive and no obstructions .. house, garage etc. enables it to find the DAB services.

I have an XC60 on order and am thinking of tweaking that order to include DAB. Can anyone tell me please; does the DAB radio also receive standard FM?

Yes. I have DAB (which I love), and also receive AM & FM.

In which case I'll definately upgrade mine. By the time I come to sell on my XC60 in 2014 or 2015, FM will be a thing of the past, so £250 spent now may come back tenfold then.

I do not have a DAB Radio in the house so do not know what signal is like around here. Hopefully once it has located a signal it locks on, because if its keeps cutting out, it will drive me crazy, remember the old MW and bridges? Motorway journies were a nightmare...!

If you read some of the articles from the Guardian they suggest that its rubbish! And not as good as FM, I to am thinking about spec'ing DAB but it seems expensive.

Agreed. I'm sure FM will stagger along some time beyond 2015, however if you're spending - in my case - pushing £30,000 on a car, then saving £250 that you might regret later on seems unwise.

I have the DAB working, had to do something with the ensamble, it must have done some kind of scan, and on the LCD Screen shows its progress as a percentage, then amazingly, you have all the local stations...Sounds good too.
