Default Low and (not so) lazy project

Hi guys, I really need a decent build thread for my car...I've started a few threads about different bits so I'll condense it to one thread.

Here's the intro thread:
http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=125015

And here's the coilover thread:

http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=146096

I'm currently swapping the B200F for a turbo engine, it was going to be a B230ET but that was knackered and I got thoroughly screwed over by the garage that were working on it. So today, along with a couple of mates we've removed the old crap and are starting the slow process of tidying it up. I won't be able to get a new engine until April so for now I'll tidy it up, paint, swap the bushes out for new, replace suspension bits and generally get it looking nice.

New engine will be a late model squirter block B230FT, chipped ecu and ezk, mbc, and maybe a 15g. We shall see.

The garage decided these bolts were good enough for the clutch...

The ill fitting rubber boot that has rubbed on the clutch...well fitted huh...

God knows what they did to the engine mount:

They also said they had swapped the old sump onto the new engine because it was in better condition. They didn't. And they said they had replaced the head gasket...and cam belt. Again they didn't. So frustrating...

On what side of their families were they garage mechanics - the grandparents?

They should be named and shamed as an advisory to other forum members in the area who were thinking of using their services.

I wouldn't let them add windscreen washer fluid if that's typical of their work.

Mmm... very poor work by the garage.

Best to figure it out and do the swap yourself. I'll be watching with interest because my 2.0 estate will get a 2.3 turbo engine in the future.

Well done for pressing on with the project

John

I'm tempted to just jack this in and scrap it...been trying to find the funds to get an engine off of someone on here that offered them back in November, finally organised it and was trying to arrange a courier to collect it and he pulled out because he couldn't be bothered. ARGH!!!!

Nothing but problems with idiots.

Dont give up Dan! Really....dont do it!

People **** me off and deals fall through but keep your eyes on the prize. It looked ace when you had it on the road, add in the turbo and itll be so much sweeter.

Dont give up mate.

Yeah it will be awesome but the amount of ****tards that are getting in the way of the prize are certainly testing me. I'm just pi**ed off by being let down again.
