Cheers Matt! Totally forgot to get those dimensions for you today, I found the flywheel though and it's knackered, I forgot that it got dented when we took it off. Sorry!

Progress was made today though, the downpipe was fabbed and fitted and the oil cooler hoses were made. Decided to go to a local hydraulic hose manufacturer that made them to order as I waited, they aren't pretty braided hoses but they will easily do the job for a fraction of the price!

Now waiting for more parts so I can swap the 531 head on and replace the brakes and bushes all round.

Managed to get the downpipe made up and fitted on Wednesday, still waiting on parts but they shouldn't take too long to arrive. The guy that fabricated the pipe thought that a small scallop would be required to clear the steering shaft, he did a very nice job and amazingly quick too so I'm happy until I can get a full custom stainless system made up.

Knowing what 240 turbos are like in RHD form and looking at the photo there I have a feeling you might suffer with the exhaust knocking against the steering. If you do that fitting PU mounts and maybe a brace across to the strut tower should solve it.

make sure you fit some heat sheilding to protect the servo

Re the servo, 940 turbos have a heatshield that might do the trick?

The 940 heatshield will indeed fit, there are actually two parts, one that covers the servo and one for the master cylinder.

Cheers guys, I have heard about a 940 heat shield in the past, will try to find one!

As for the exhaust knocking on the steering arm, I have got a ratchet strap that is gonna help to stabilise the engine from the nearside suspension turret like the yanks do. If it doesn't fix it I'll make a 3rd mount to brace it from the offside turret. The downpipe was notched to account for the movement of the engine so I'll just have to see. I've also got turret to firewall strut braces to stiffen things up too.

I was looking at a turbo blanket, will probably get one when I upgrade my turbo but for now I've got some heat shield tubing and I'm getting a 940 heat shield.

I've finished university now so I've got a bit more free time to get the wagon back on the road.

Lots of little fiddly bits today, I fitted:

- belts and tightened everything up
- new oil cooler lines and test fitted the oil cooler
- new heater control valve to replace the leaky old one
- strut braces
- wideband sensor and gauge
- boost gauge

On Wednesday I'll get more done, but I've ordered the wrong size silicone hoses so I'm waiting for more to be delivered. Brakes and bushes are next!

Strut braces:

Oil cooler trial fitting:

Boost gauge and Wideband gauge:
