Default Re-drilling alloys?

Hi all, so what with the alloy wheel choice available to us 200 owners being fairly limited or expensive, i was thinking of getting some nice rims and having the PCD redrilled to suit.

My question is would there be any benefit to using a different type of nut taper to the 200 (cheaper more readily available?) or just stick to what we have.

I know it's not a DIY job and will be getting a local machinist to carry out the work. Any thoughts appreciated.

Paul

Ive seen wheels re-drilled but I wouldnt trust them on large power. It'd be better to get some proper spacers made up to convert the PCD from 5x108 to whatever you like than drilling them. Thats just my opinion though.

I dont know which PCD you could go for when drilling. It'd have to be 5 stud as 4 stud cant be drilled to 5 due to the bolt spacings whatever way.

If you got custom adapters you could use whatever you like though. Personally I'd go for Jap fitment along the lines of 5x114.3. They have some amazing wheels all rwd fitment that you can choose from.

Default spacers

Most of the "newer" wheels would be a larger offset than a 240 so you'd need (25-30mm) spacers anyway even with the correct hub size (65.1)!

Sorry should have been clearer, get them drilled to suit as in get the wheels drilled to 5x108. I've seen a set drilled before and as far as i'm aware there shouldn't be a problem if the wheel center is a solid lump rather than cast, the wheels in question are 3 piece split rims.

I like dish on my wheels so spacers/adapters are a no go as you instantly loose some dish.

Does anyone know the ET (offset) of the Virgo alloys, and ditto to Polaris'.

Thats a bit of ball-ache!

I'm not dyslexic but when ever it comes to anything with numbers i'm easily lost, from phone numbers to DOB's lol, so things like ET pickle my brain a bit.

Basically if the mounting center/hub/face whatever you like to call it is exactly 50-50 between front and back of rims it has a 0 offset or a 0ET, is that correct?
So a wheel with the the face set further in towards the rear rim is negative numbers -, and forwards of the center point is +?
Sorry for all the questions but it's hard to find deffinitve answers as to what size width/diameter/offset wheels will fit, looking on TB's etc seems more like an excercise in wang waving rather than actual facts and figures.
