Ad states 2 litre but has a GLT badge on the back.
More likely to be incorrect badging I guess as doesn't look very GLT-like. Other than this looks nice and original. How do people do so few miles?!?! |

Mmmm. Looks nice, but silly price and unconvincing badging. What sort of condition is an engine that's barely done 30 thousand in nearly 25 years going to be like?

Sticking up for low mileage cars
This is an age old debate. I agree that an engine that's sat unused for years will deteriorate, but if the car's been regularly but lightly used then I see no reason why there should be any prioblem. Surely it will not have suffered the wear from use? I know people say that seals dry up etc, but I don't think they do if the car gets a good run every couple of months.
I bought a low mileage GLT saloon four years ago - 29,000 on the clock with full history that showed regular use. Since then I've done about 750 miles a year in it, usually 100 or 150 mile trips at a time. It has been very reliable. This year I treated her to new plugs, leads and dizzy cap and replaced the injector seals as has been recommended on here. I fitted new tyres, headlights and wipers when I bought her. The car has run impeccably and is a pleasure to drive (touch wood!!!) Kind regards Lucien |

Crazy pricing on that considering I paid 1/4 of that for an estate with 30k on the clock, that had light usage until it stood for just under a year.

Personally I dont put a lot of value on low mileage. If a car has done a couple of thousand, it may have some worth as a museum piece/trailer queen but otherwise I don't particularly see the point in paying a massive premium for lower than average miles. Often low miles means lots of short trips not allowing the engine to warm completely, which often stores up trouble.
I would rather buy a good car at the going rate (or preferably cheaper !) and do all the work required. That way I know everything is sorted and I get the car how I want it. My 240 has cost me much less than the advertised price of this one and I know which one I would prefer to own
