Default No way of switching the alarm system off of my 940

I have an N reg 940 turbo 2.3 petrol estate. The grey key fob for the alarm system got wet and went rusty over three years ago. A friend disconnected the alarm system. He does not remember how he did it.
I recently had a complete new exhaust system fitted for an MOT.
Just after that on a foggy night between stopping and starting to unload. The alarm system came back to life. The emergency call out man tinkered with it and I was mobile again. About a week later on a mizzley morning, the alarm system cut in again. It was parked up for three months after that because I took ill.
It was garaged to have the alarm problem sorted, points plugs and leads done. They garage said' It's stopped doing it now' meaning the alarm was not going off.
Last Saturday (misty) morning the alarm kicked back in when I turned on the ignition. It is a' volvo guard alarm system' A grey single button key fob (not working) Any ideas on how I can over ride or decommission the alarm system. Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Toney G

Once it's "deactivated", meaning starting the engine within 5 seconds of the alarm silencing (indicators still flashing), using the key to lock the car and unlock will keep it from arming, and you can use as usual.

If it somehow "resets", then there's some electrical gremlins somewhere bleeding into the system.

I have a wiring diagram for a 96 940 if that's any help? Might be able to trace a few wires and bypass it properly (cut and tape).

Cheers

Only fuses on a 940 are behind the ashtray.
960s have fuse boxes all over the place 🤣

They all seem to go mad eventually.

Its under the steering column, unplug it and connect the 2 starter motor wires together.

If you really need I can PM the wire colours or picture of my bypass.
