Default V50 dead battery

Hi Guys need some help, on 2 occasions within the past 10 days i was unable to start my car (V50 2.0 Diesel) as it had a dead battery, on both occasions i got road side assistance out who jump started the car, at both times they did engine and battery checks and said there was nothing wrong with the battery, and no battery drain while the ignition was turned off, the alternator is charging the battery, what would cause the battery to go dead????? do i need a new battery although The AA have checked and said there is nothing wrong with the battery.....

A car charging the battery online charges it at around 1% to 2% charge per hour, thus to reach 100% charge you need to be driving for a few days for many hours a day to fully charge it.

Thus after any flat battery and a jump start, it is a very wise idea to connect the car to a battery charger overnight.

I have a lot of experience with my XC90, and I use a 5A intelligent battery charger.

As I have a 90AH battery, charging at 5A will take 18 hours to go from totally flat to fully charged (18 x 5 = 90).

I don't use my car a lot, and I have a CTEK Battery Sense monitor on my car. When I see the battery getting down to 80% charge, I put the charger on overnight.

When a battery has a full charge, it has a lot more reserve capacity to handle the short trips in cold wet weather, which puts maximum electrical load on the car. A fully charged battery can manage theses stresses much easier than a partly charged battery.

Hi
I would be tempted to get your alternator checked properly. Might be charging but might also have an internal fault causing a drain.
They are not renowned for their reliability, I am on my 3rd.
