I was in the same boat as you with mine. I did some research and was reading it was well worth changing everything so I did! Thats means cambelt, auxiliary belt, tensioner, tensioner pulley, water pump....got the lot from a main dealer for about £130.
As for transmission fluid change I must admit I cheated and got my usual specialist to flush and replace. |

Car is now taxed and MOT'd only one advisory on the test for small oil leak, looks like the turbo return pipe I already have the bits to sort it.
Since I bought the car it's had new brakes, 302 mm front discs, OMP road/track pads F&R, Volvo h/b shoes, braided hoses, all bled through with Motul RBF660, I've changed the PCV system and fitted new tyres 225/45/17 Hankook R-s2s. so I went out for a blast, and it's not to bad apart from the grinding/rudding noise coming from the O/S front corner, also it felt stange in the corners like torque steer but not as violent, so I'm thinking engine mount, I was right see pic of O/S front egine mount; and with the new one; a little past it's best!!! new one fitted and it's a different car to drive now, smooth, nice turn in (steering a little light) but not to bad. so it's had a oil change and a wash (not had a proper go with the paint yet) and is now ready forit's maiden run to the Isle of Man, see how it performs on decent roads with no speed limits I'll give it a full service when we get back, jobs to do are Cambelt, Aux belt, engine steady mount needs replacing (I'll poly bush this) and check all the other bushes, cure the oil leak, plus attending to anything that crops up while we're away. |
