Default Car Not Starting. Intermittent Fault

Anyone else experiencing where the engine doesn’t fire up when turning the starter?
I follow the correct starting procedure, foot on brake etc. and it can take 10 or so attempts before it starts. Not always but now and again, it’s become real pain and am concerned that one day it just not start!

Hi, I have a V90 C/C Ocean race, and sometimes if the brake pedal has been pressed before turning the knob it will not start unless I really push down hard..... and I mean really hard on the brake pedal, and then it starts and then the pedal softens up again

If its not that then back to the dealer you go....

This may be the inhibitor switch on gear selector, next time it happens try moving gear selector (with ignition on and foot on brake) from park and then back to park and then try starting.

Our XC90 does this when the car hasn't been driven for a while. I suppose the brake switch isn't
activated unless pushed hard when there is no or less servo power left in the brake system.

This happens every now and again to my S90 and I have found that the only thing that works is to open the door (ie close down) and start again. Hasn't failed yet although I am fearful of the day when this doesn't work.

Default Thank You

I still have this as an ongoing issue but if anybody else does experience it, pushing hard on the brake pedal- really hard! As per broken record”s suggestion does work.
Thank you

I thought it was me only having the issue, I have to press down hard on the brake, used to my other autos, just foot down and start. This one I have to actually think and push down hard. Thought it was a Volvo safety aspect.
