Default Rear doors jammed - no repair until February

Both my rear doors have jammed

They can't be opened from the inside or the outside.

I contacted the dealer but they can't repair until February.
I'm not keen on using the car in case of an accident or fire - how would my kids get out??

Does anyone know of a workaround for this?

Thank you

Yeah it's still under warranty.

The 'what ifs" only really struck me after I'd booked in it.

Escalate it , explain the situation to them , you really should have a loan car... according to volvo franchise standards . It is not different in Ireland is it?

Phoned the dealer back and explained my concerns.
Might as well have talked to the wall, service guy couldn't have cared less.

The rear door locks are failing all over the place. Mine has been at dealers for three weeks and Volvo keeps delaying parts. I had to leave it as mine is unsafe for kids with both locks failed. Call VoC and say your car is unsafe for use. They arrange a rental - get them to deliver to dealer where you will drop the car. After four days dealer has to start paying for your rental or arranges a courtesy car.

Thank you for the advice.

My in-laws received a car through Volvo on Call bit didn't use it as they went on holiday.

The dealer came and lifted it and then claimed it was damaged to the tune of 5k. Thankfully they had their holiday booking to prove they were nowhere near the car

Mine's in now for the same reason (3.5yr old car).

Our new door locks apparently arrived today. I think we get the car back on Monday.

VoC sorted a hire car for 48hrs. Dealer would have sorted on after that but we didn't need one.

I think many more people can watch out for this happening. Hopefully the new ones are a revised design, as ~3yrs will see the car outside the 6yr consumer rights protection limit for the second lot....

(Vast majority of price of mine now being picked up).
