Anyone got a v90 cc and their opinions on it in either d4 or d5 guise?
Regards
Dan

I don’t have one but would have had one if not for all 90 series apart from XC having such shallow bodies that make it very difficult for many people to exit.
If you fit, I reckon it’s a fantastic car. The spec of the individual car makes a difference of course.

Love it. Comfortable, safe, luxurious, lots of tech, capable off road, relatively rare (or unpopular!).

Minor gripe about the lacklustre noise from the engine under load, but still plenty enough real world power.

I have a D4 CC PRO. Great car. Recently did the Polestar upgrade as the gearbox was annoying in Standard form.

Just changed its tyres from the STD 235/50/19 to the XC60 size of 235/55/19 made a good difference on driving. As has been said good in slippy conditions and when 4x4 is needed pretty good.

With all the reports of the Power Pulse pipes failing (plenty of thread discussions), I'd be wary of the D5 regardless of model.

Its a pipe! It doesn’t disable the car if it bursts. It will be sorted. I’ve had one failure and that wasn’t repaired correctly. No big deal. The system generally works very well indeed and is an inspired design feature.

Love it. Comfortable, fast and capable (although not tried any serious off road yet!) and as a previous poster said, relatively unusual which I quite like. Driving all the way down to the Austrian Alps to go skiing in a few weeks and looking forward to seeing how it behaves if there's any proper snow. Mine's a D5 and yes, I've had one Powerpulse pipe failure (only picked up during 2 yr service last week - I hadn't noticed). Would love Polestar but haven't yet had the business case approved... Gearbox much better though after service and associated software update.

I love mine, although I agree with the comments about being not too easy to get in and out of; I am 6’4”” with dodgy knees and struggle sometimes.
I tried the D5 before I bought mine, and liked the extra power, but the D4 was sitting there at the right price and spec so I bought it instead. I have never regretted the decision. I find it very comfortable, the ride is good - mine has 18” wheels, it is very quiet and the performance is more than adequate for my needs. Fuel consumption is considerably better than my previous XC90 and XC70. I tow a caravan and a heavy trailer and it has proved to be an excellent tow car.
I live about 1/4 mile up a very rough muddy unmade road, so find the extra ground clearance essential, but have yet to try it out off road although the awd has proved useful on muddy campsites.
If I was able to change anything, I would say that raising the roofline by an inch or two and increasing the size of the luggage area slightly would go a long way towards making it the perfect car.
Around where I live, they are still a rare sight; I know of only 2 others within 10 miles, one of which is identical to mine even down to having a registration number only 1 letter away from mine, so they do attract attention and comment.

Maybe so, but there are plenty of others who appear to have more than 1 blowout. All very good whilst in warranty. Clearly a design/ product fault that Volvo fail to rectify. This the reason IMO to not to go with a D5.

I am actually considering a V90 CC next as a change from my current V90 RDesign, so interested in the comments to the OP.
