My dealer adamant that subwoofer no longer available. Volvo UK say the same when I enquired, so top marks Andrew Can you let us know how the system sounds with it when you get it?

Just lift the cargo floor and look behind the rear seat. It's a large rectangular unit.

The dealer had a pre-allocation order slot. Lots of trade came though the door in January, but some of these 'real orders' pushed the P11D over £40k, so a 'big excuse' to keep the customer happy by pushing these to the front of the queue and ensure registration before 1st April. Our friend with the 'delayed' order is under £40k so will suffer only marginally. Call me cynical, but there is probably something in my theory.

Nigel, I think you credit salesmen with more brains and intelligence than the reality suggest is normally the case.
I would be inclined support the simple cockup theory

Are they "salesmen" or "Sales executives". There are no qualifications needed to sell cars. Middlemen i would say, and once they have your money it's on to the next buyer.

Nothing like a good generalisation....
To add to the above. Generally there is no rhyme nor reason behind why certain vehicles are built ahead of others. Sometimes certain options change the build slot depending on availability of parts I assume.. (?). As dealers we do have the option of requesting delivery dates on vehicles but generally they come when they come. If we held back one vehicle it wouldn't necessarily mean that another of ours would fall into its slot... more likely that another dealers vehicle would, so isn't common practice, not here at least anyway. All the best, and hope you enjoy your vehicle when it arrives. Last edited by MtillingVolvo; Mar 3rd, 2017 at 13:27. |
