Perfect, Geartronic D3 it is then - quite a lot of early SE Lux models around with some nice extras fitted

Hold out for a "Lux" - you get the nicer instruments and the very good ABL headlights. If you can find one - winter pack adds heated seats and screen.

I think you are right, they don’t all seem to have the TFT display but I think it comes automatically with some of the options that can be fitted so most do have it

Quick question - I did search first but couldn’t find it - on the 5-cylinder diesels what’s the service interval? Found a nice looking car with an otherwise decent history but the first service was done at nearly 2 years and 22k, after that it’s annual and well under 10k between each.

I’m a stickler for a good history and I seem to have it in mind the 5-pots are on 18k and 12 month intervals but not sure if I’m making that up!

Service interval for the D3 5 cylinder engine is 18,000 miles or 12 months whichever comes first.

I think one of the belts may need to be changed at 54,000 miles but hopefully someone with a D3 can confirm.

It's 18k or 12 months for the Volvo engines (12k for the 1.6D2 which wipes out its economy advantage). The aux belt is every 54k I think, as said above...

I wouldn't be too concerned about one of the services being 4k late, or a year or so late if the mileage wasn't met.

It's always worth checking with the dealer, not everyone keeps the book pack in the glove box so sometimes cars get serviced but the book doesn't get stamped.

Unfortunately it’s nearly a full 12 months and over 4K too late - shame really as I was hoping they’d not noted the first service as the rest looks good.

Seen about the belts, looks like it’s best to get all the belts done at about 8 years 80k so that’s a cost to factor in and will need to find a local specialist rather than main dealer prices.
