I've tried charging for 48 hours - both the old battery and the new one. Exact same behaviour on both! I'm using the car 3-4 times a week, although I certainly wasn't when the problem first started during the first lockdown.
How are you charging as I understand the system there are two batteries and they both need to be charged I did mine on vehicle via the charge point under the bonnet which I believe brought both up to spec at least the stop start worked afterwards. (V90 cc)

The second support battery is always fully charged it can never go flat ... It takes care of itself whatever the main battery is doing ... 👍

My S90 sat for 6 months after an accident and the stop start function has not worked since the car was put back on the road. The reason is that the support battery under the bonnet has failed. It is easy to check with a meter and if it shows less than 12v (as mine does) that is probably the culprit. The battery box is right behind the jump start (red) terminal and is held on with two torx screws. Personally I don't like stop start so I'm happy to leave it as is.

That's the first failure I've come across since they started being used ... I guess 12 years is a while ..
