Default S40 T4 2001 Sport £1600

Volvo s40 2001 (Y)

The car is in a colour called titanium grey, there are obviously some age related marks and there is a couple of patches on the bonnet where bird mess has burnt through a little, if I was going to keep it i would have got these sorted. Viewing is possible after 6 on weekdays and most of the weekend, ring 07703045224 to arrange please!

I really love this car and I brought it with a poorly engine, I have completely stripped and rebuilt the engine, I am a fully trained Volvo tech so I know what i'm doing, replacing one con rod it needed and every seal and gasket I removed to do the job, this was less than 12 thousand miles ago and if I wasn't so lead footed I would keep it as the spec is awesome. I also serviced it fully and replaced the cambelt with both tensioners and the auxillary belt.

I have changed the oil 3 times since owning it and can change it again for the new owner if he or she wishes.

Spec as below

Rebuilt 2ltr turbo engine producing 200 bhp as standard.

Full heated cream leather interior in good condition, 2 sets of floor mats for you too choose from, grey original or cream Volvo ones.

It has the built in Volvo sat Nav headunit with a 10 cd changer in the boot. This will play most copied cd's.

Full Volvo sports exhaust, this is a standard for item which was on the car from new and in the accessory booklet says it can increase the power by 4bhp. Doesn't sound any louder than other normal exhaust systems but must flow free-er. This doesn't affect insurance as it's a Volvo option that was fitted and not aftermarket.

Fully working electrics including sliding and tilting sunroof, elec windows all round and remote central locking.

Has got an Brodit 3gs iPhone holder on a mount which is the type that makes no holes, can be removed if needed. There is an ipod adaptor (which plays through the cd changer cable and charges ipod/iphone) fitted also, i would include these for an extra £50 as thats what it'll cost me to get some more for my next car

I have all the discs for the satnav, the owners manual but unfortunately no service history, I can honestly say this is one of the best s40 I've ever driven and worked on, has good Tyre's all round, new toyo's on front and continental on the rear, pads and discs are good all round (new on the rear) and all I had to do to pass mot was replace a front brake flexible hose, so ones new and the other is in very good condition otherwise I would have replaced it at the same time. I also changed a coil pack as it started to miss under boost.

The car is very fast and smooth and very good round the bends, as I have said it has got to be one of the best ive driven and I work on them all day long.

I'm willing to take a cheap diesel in p/x and cash on top or just cash or a decent diesel in a swap type deal.

Looking for around £2250 due to spec, i know this sounds high but it really is that good a car. Pics below.

Thanks for looking.

Mileage, mot, tax? Quite important as this is quite an expensive asking price! Unless I've missed it?

The lack of service history personally would put me off. Not trying to put down the car just being honest.

£2k is still a bit high imo.

Here is a newer model for £1,494 http://www.adtrader.co.uk/yorkshire-...lvo%20s40%20t4

I'd put her at £1,795 at see what happens.

No matter how nice of a car, you need to sell in line with the rest of the market. At your price stuff like Service history and 12 months Tax would make it a sweeter deal. I see you've got the tax till march which isn't bad but you're wanting over 2k so 6 or 12 months wouldn't hurt for the new owner.

As I say the lack of S/H is a put off from my viewpoint as this is a T4.

I wish you luck but from my experience when selling you need to be more realistic. I had my Megane on sale for £950 and no one was interested, then I dropped the price to £840 and a flood of buyers came for test drives and eventually I sold her.

Best of luck

Echo the above re pricing, any sensible people looking for a bargain will aim straight for cars with FSH from Volvo MD owned from new old ladies in Cornwall and North Wales. Anyone aiming to spend £2k+ probably won't be looking at an S40 anyway.

Price it at £1800, if you get a deluge of offers, you can always turn them down and re-advertise at £1900!

In fact re the above linked model, for £1500 I'd be tempted to buy one and run it as our "weekend car"! Same colour... I could probably switch the plates and just insure one of them, hahahaha!! Not sure The Wife™ would be happy though. She still wants a Mini.

Wow. What a temptation! Same colour, same spec, but a T4!
