CR-802 pinout?
My car lost power and my CR-802 was locked. Long story short none of the diode calculators got the code right and the local Volvo dealer wants 50 euros and a pile of paperwork for getting the correct code. I can get a new headunit for 35€, so the dealer can suck it.
However, why can't I find the pinout for the CR-802? After almost 2 hours of googling I found pinouts for pretty much every other Volvo radio but the CR-802. Is it really that obscure? One of the connectors is this one: And the other one is a yellow 5-pin connector pictured here: Both have wires attached. Thanks for any help! |

If the unit is original to the car the dealer only has to punch the chassis number into the computer and the number will be there. In the UK they just need the registration number. Not normally any charge it's just a courtesy service. Best to go in with the car. Try another dealer.

They told me it's too old, they have to call the code from Sweden, and the guy said they "usually charge" 50€. Also they'll be wanting to check the registration, radio serial number and VIN personally and with my horrendous work schedule I really can't be assed to find a hole in my schedule when they happen to be open.
Furthermore, even if I did get that code I will need that pinout later anyway. |

This might help. I have it 'on file', but I don't know what it's like as I have never opened it as I haven't bothered to download something like 7 Zip that will read .rar files.

I appreciate your effort but apparently the "CR-802" document is a guide (in Russian) about how to decode the security code from the diodes.
Found another entry for "CR 802" on that website but it was a .PDF user's guide with no pinout. |

After figuring out the schematic in the text file bob12 linked, I actually got the original radio's code right!
At least now I have FM radio. And C-cassette. Wow... Anyway, pinout, anyone? |
