Injectors for 300whp+ B230
As above, what injector options have I got for a B230? I'm aiming for 300 at the wheels for a start and then when I'm bored of that I'll be pushing the standard rods to see how far they go. Will a set of greens be up to it?

I'd be tempted to get it to 250 first . Bosch Injectors Giant Green 440cc 0280155968 might be ok but you're going to need an a/f ratio gauge to keep an eye on things, it might be wise to get new 600cc injectors then the duty cycle won't be too high. But then you'll need possibly a 3 1/4 inch maf to match which will not really work well. The TLAO chips, 3'' maf and browntop injectors were working ok up to 12 psi on my 19T, but you'll need ideally a bigger turbo to get to 300.
What turbo are you thinking of using?

Ford Thunderbird 'brown' injectors (36lbs?) can be used, from what I have read. Not convinced they will be good for 300WHP though, that's a lot.
An adjustable FPR might be able to squeeze some more out of whatever you choose. |

Yes those are what I have. Fine for 250.

I'm considering a 940 specced 19T from Kinugawa at some point. Nice to have something that bolts right up to the oil/water lines and the stock 90+ manifold is very appealing to me.
On the other hand, I could probably get a used Holset or Borg-Warner T4 twin scroll and custom manifold for just a little more. |

That's a similar spec to what I was thinking of using, just wasn't sure on the squirters. I'm hopefully picking up a Cosworth T34 this weekend. |

turbo
I've been looking at the 16g turbo of the Evo's. Will spool reasonably early. Can use na manifold and J pipe. The turbo is probably the last thing you'll want to put on to make 300. A cam that is free revving like the RSI stage 2 is useful to get things going. I've had a major temporary set back to mine, which hopefully will be rectified soon. I might have to get a 2 litre auto for the time being

I plan to run the 16g evo turbo using a j pipe setup on the NA manifold. Space looks tight around the steering columb on rhd cars though. I recon its only the turbo thats holding me back from 300bhp. Small t3 from a saff cossie just now which is good but doesnt enjoy more than 15psi of boost. Seems the 16g is a really good match for these engines with good spool if the twin scroll is operating correctly ( which it will with the N/A manifold). Im also running rc650 cc injectors with lower fuel pressure because there a bit overkill. I imagine 450cc high rez injectors would be ideal

The T cam is pretty hopeless. The A cam is a much better cheap bet for a budget build.
You also want to think about intercooler for keeping the air temps down. If you are thinking of testing the rods to the max later I would suggest a stand alone ECU rather than chips. It is not that chips will not get you to goal 1 but when you start pushing the rods you want the timing and fuel just right |
