Just got a 2014 V70 D5 and I'm slowly trying to come to terms with it.
Would I be correct is believing :-
1) That if you have a flat battery you can't move the car if you applied the park brake before the battery went flat. - bad news in my garage.
2) Other than to turn the radio volume to "0" it can't be shut up.

3) Unless the engine in running you can't fiddle with the "options" of how to do things differently.

4) read the digital owners manual.

I have already discovered I can't increase/decrease the cruise control except in 5mph increments.

At this rate I might just understand how it all works just before I scrap it at 240K miles 10 years down the line. I have already spent over an hour trying to change the dash appearance to no avail.....I don't appear to have a "themes" icon, which is where it's altered.

Cheers

Bob

This is what happens when you cross to the dark side.

Seriously though, enjoy your new toy and don't forget us poor souls in the smelly section who may need your experience from time to time.

1) Yes, in theory. If you can get access, you can remove the electric motor and wind the pads of manually using a torx drive.

2) Push the button inside the Volume control, it's the On/Off button.

3) Push the start button without your foot on the brake and you get key position I. Press the start button with your foot on the brake and the engine starts. Press the start button with your foot on the brake and after the engine starts to turn over, release the brake and you get key position II.

4) You can view the digital manual via "My Volvo" online site!

5) Cruise can only be decreased in 5mph increments, however you can increase it in 1mph increments using the RESET button. I find decreasing from 62mpg to 52mph (Actual 60mph to 50mph speed) is easier if you put the system in standby (touch the brake/clutch or press the on/off button), let the car coast to the desired new lower speed and the reset using the + or - buttons!

I park my car in a garage & the nose goes under my work bench. So I don't apply the parking brake in the garage. The 12v socket in the load area can be used to charge the battery. If you have an auto xmission that can be released from "Park" with a key. Then you can roll the car back.

Have now discovered this only available with the TFT crystal display - which I don't have - hence no themes .lol at me.

Downloaded the manual - thanks for that - looks like a lot of bed time reading.
