Clutch and flywheel source for 130k V50 2.0L petrol
We both drive V50s 2.0L petrols, his V50 ended up in a layby last night as the clutch/flywheel gave up. Best place to source parts, they said flywheel gone, but not said about clutch , do all need to be replaced at once? Flywheels a killer price at £500 for a Sachs on Eurocarparts, any thoughts and help appreciated, he just can't quite afford a newer car nor a big repair at the minute!

Turns out his mate whose a mechanic can do him a great rate and discount the parts, so panic over!

General rule of thumb is, while the gearbox is out for clutch/flywheel it's cheaper in the long run to do both at the same time.

No further on with this, need some clarification off the forum, his mechanic hasn't stripped it down yet, but thought the R-design had a different clutch/flywheel set up ie different and therefore more expensive parts, but I though the only difference was the suspension/handling and trim aspects and effectively nothing else, can anyone tell me if the standard 2.0L engine version in an S, SE or Lux have different clutch/flywheel setups or parts to the R-design?
Thanks P

So the forums thoughts on LUK products, plus does the 2.0l petrol has a dual mass flywheel? Is ebay the best place to source for this sort of price or should I try FRF Volvo in Cardiff or Swansea?

Just to feedback, as you can see the clutch plates destroyed themselves, Sachs original part, mechanic never saw one in this state, so full clutch kit, slave cylinder and DMF (parts superceded twice in its life). LUK replacement.
Did 100 miles in it today, all seems good. P
