It says it's JWS 3309 so ought to be OK
BUT Personally I'd use more of a "Brand" oil - but that's just me. There's some interesting views expressed here https://www.detailingworld.co.uk/for...d.php?t=200299 Cheers Dave |

Maybe think about it from the perspective of risk vs reward.
It's difficult to feel certain about the suitability of another oil spec / manufacturer, other than the one from the dealer is by definition the correct one. The difference in cost is £50-60. Given that it would be a little excessive to change the transmission oil more frequently than every 2-3 years, then it works out between £20 and £30 per year difference to use the genuine Volvo oil. Consider this against the cost of repairing or replacing a prematurely failed / worn gearbox. This is not because I have money to burn. Only this week I took a punt on an eBay supplied Osram headlamp bulb, as there's over a £100 difference between that and the dealer supplied part. I don't have to have the best, "just because". The difference is, if it turns out to be a cheap knock-off which only lasts 12 months, all I've lost is £35. It won't have caused damage to other components which would cost northward of £2500 to replace. You can overthink things.

Good reputation on here, genuine branded lamps at good prices. No gearbox juice though...
