Clicking clutch
Hello, my first post so please treat me gently. 2011 D3 R Design 70k. Whenever I depress the clutch there is a single click noise (from the clutch pedal), anyone else have this? any tips to sort it? Only starts to annoy me a wee bit in heavy traffic.
Thanks Dicky |

I had this - sounded a bit like a microswitch click; clicked once on pressing and once on return, no matter how gently the pedal was depressed; I took it back to the indy dealer I bought it from and they had a word with Volvo, who advised that this sound is known about and that there is a recall for it (at least on 2010MY C30 2.0 R-Designs, which is what I have) and a plastic component in the mechanism was replaced with a metal one - no more clicks now!
Worth checking if you have an outstanding recall before oiling or anything involving ££££s Regards Dave |

Thanks Dave, I will give Volvo a call.
I did no recall on clutch pedal but an outstanding one for the exhaust sleeve which requires a day in the body shop.. curious but thanks again! Last edited by Dickypezz; Dec 17th, 2014 at 13:43. |

Clutch pedal click
It happened on my XC60. After lying upside down in the footwell I discovered that it was the complex plastic moulding that the clutch pedal, spring etc fits to.
There was a small over centre movement of the plastic part, caused by the change of force direction on pushing the pedal down then up. For manufacturing tolerances there is a small gap between part of the plastic and the metal clutch lever. I hammered a small panel pin into the slot to fix it. Lasted three years. |
