Cannot connect Dice to Vida in my C30 1.6d '09

Hindsight is a beautiful thing isn't lol. If I'd known that's how it works I would have done that. I didnt know about the private message response. Too late now, unless I get my money back from these yellow tits on eBay, which is looking increasingly like I might.

Still can't reply even to your message, I must be getting near 30 posts by now lol.
I was almost about to take you up on that but think I've just solved it.

I did a fresh install and used the original patch that came with the files as I noticed on their ebay page in the installation instructions they used username "1" whereas in the ReadMe.txt installation instructions included in the software files it says username "admin". Unfortunately login still failed.
But after using the other patch found online with a later date I thought it must be an issue with expiry date preventing me from login in using the original patch, so I opened it up in notepad++ and there was 2017!!!! Changed this to 2099 like the one I found offline and bingo, we're in. And I can now see DiCE207823 in my device/communications box, where as I had nothing there with the updated patch I found online. So I'm guessing maybe the Dice device name is written into the patch supplied with the software files somewhere. The random one I found online obvious wouldn't.

The dice name is showing without it being attached to the laptop so I'm hoping that it all work tomorrow when I try and plug it into the car, fingers crossed.

The patch will have nothing to do with the Dice Communication box being visible but no matter.
If it works, it works and that's the main thing.
