Volvo amazon B20 twin carb
I have owned this vehicle for approximately eight years. I have improved the condition of this car over that period, and is a lovely vehicle to drive. It started as a daily driver, and then later became the second car.
Engine has been upgraded to B20, to the following spec: Twin SU carbs - rebuilt by Burlen Ported & skimmed head Balanced bottom end K-Type cam Racing manifold & custom stainless exhaust Electronic ignition. The vehicle did get placed on a rolling road part way through these modifications. Approximate performance is believed to now be around 125bhp. It can keep up with modern traffic on motorways. I have little history prior to my ownership. I have reason to believe that it may have started life as an automatic, but now features standard four-speed gearbox, with the strong and desirable J-Type overdrive. The overdrive has also been rebuilt by a specialist. I have fitted GAZ adjustable shocks all round, set at a softer setting to maintain comfort, but the front wishbones and anti roll-bar have hardened bushes. I have also rebuilt the steering box. The result is a comfortable ride, but with very precise and responsive steering. Over the period of my ownership I have undertaken various bits of bodywork. The underside is very sound. There were a couple of pieces of floor that were changed when I first got the vehicle. The usual spots were problematic, such as inner wings in the engine bay. Parts of the bodywork has been dealt with a few years ago, but there is some bubbling at the bottom of the nearside doors, and one headlight surround and a couple of other small points, but nothing major. The boot lid has just been replaced, and a bit of work on the rear arches, so the back of the car is in excellent shape. The Paint elsewhere is not perfect, and could do with improvement. The interior is very standard, with the only addition of seatbelts in the rear. The passenger seat has some stitching undone, and the drivers seat has had new webbing. All instruments work properly, and the only additional switches from the Lucas spot and fog lights. The overdrive has a proper stalk switch on the steering column. There is a carpet, and I have the original rubber flooring, but it is tatty and would only be useful as a pattern. The dash pad is also in perfect order, with no cracks! £5,995.00 The car is located in North Yorkshire, in Wensleydale. Feel free to ask me questions. |
