Never too early to be prepared! I need to get them ordered, get the summers off the rims and check if I have got any TPMS sensors in the new set of rims. If not then I need to buy a set. So a bit of messing about before they will go on the car in Oct/Nov...

Never to early to prepare, but I don't buy winter tyres before the leftovers are sold out.

I'm on Pirelli Scorpion Winters (in the winter...) - mainly because Volvo were doing a good deal on a winter tyre/19" wheel package at the time. Previously had Pirelli Sottozerros on my XF and Sportbrake. Never had any complaints about either tyre - but then again - these were my first winter tyres and hence not had anything to compare them with. Tyre wear seemed good (18k miles on the Sottozeros with about 4.5mm left when I sold them). Both tyres are quiet, and I'm more than happy with the grip.

You can run 22 and 19, for me personally a set of 19s would be a preferred choice. That said I am an engineer so tend to see things more functionally rather than form. |

Empty wheel gaps as the brakes fit under 19 inch but people want to negatively impact the drivability, maintainability and longevity to look like a gangsta in their PCP Volvo. |

TBH 21"'s Drive fine, and handle well, better than 19's on winter tyres, although not a lot in it, but to get a set of Volvo rims and Nokians at the price I did will save me a fortune in the price difference of 21" tyres and 19's I use 8 months of the year

Handles well. Drives smooth, can mount a pavement and don’t get concerned about kerbing or pot holes. If I purchased a new one I would get 19s and run cross climates on them. |
