Default V50 Soundproofing

Hi

Anyone know how to remove the large grey sound / heat proofing unit that covers most of the top of the engine on the V50 2.0D?

Many thanks

It lifts up at the front and slides towards you.

However, if you vehicle has a strut brace then this will need to be removed as the cover will not come past the oil filler cap.

make sure the engine and hence plastic top is hot before you lift the front up and then pull it towards you to release the left rear pop stud . It's likely to crack if you try it cold .. The only engine you need to take the oil filler cap off is the D5 in the V50/S40/C30/C70 .. and you dont need to take the brace off any variant ...
