Additionally whilst you may not like this fact, 75K miles or however many years it is in before changing is nothing in consideration at what some other car manufacturers have done and continue to do. For example I know some VW engines with 4 yr cambelt changes which should of cost £1000 (if you go to a VW main dealer). The whole 4 year thing to was brought about by VW finding they were not up to spec for the service interval so just shortened it did nothing about the actual underlying problem. So okay the filter may last 7 yrs from memory but in just over another year a VW owner going to a dealership would be having to shell out another £1000. Additionally you never even had to pay for the part or work carried out on the vehicle if you want to complain then go the EU for introducing a requirement for Euro 5 cars to have one. |

The particle filter as mentioned is actualy a catalytic converter as well ,two in the one casing . It costs £400 ... It might be interesting to know that citroen who use this engine have a different arrangment . the unit is joined in the middle and each section can be changed independantly .. each half is £500 ....

cDPF?
Did you mean on cDPF (standing for catalysed dpf or coated dpf)?
cDPF versions doesn't require servicing, only replacing after 200k+. They do not have ADM (with Eolys) because doesn't require any additive for regeneration. |

My car Volvo V50 Drive 1.6 from 2009, now shows 176.000 km I bought it when it has driven 141.000 km and just had a service. Now i Go for my next service and the guy tells me. I can not see the DPF has been changed :-)
In Sweeden its 1500 Euro in total plus regular service (another 400+). I just went home again without a service. I have always done service to all my other cars myself. Will do the same here although I will find a cheeaper place to get this done. But for now. Everything is running ok. So I guess the leasing companies here en Sweeden know this trick as well. I will inform you later about how much I will end up paying for the DFP Claus |

Hi, I have a S40 1.6 on a 2010 plate. My DPF lasted just over 100k miles. The guy who did my servicing didn't change the DPF and I ended up going to the dealership at Wolverhampton who liberated my wallet of hard earned cash. If appears they didn't top up the ADM and I ended up going to Squires at Burntwood to get this sorted. Bit of an expensive period as I have had the cambelt and the clutch replaced. Still the car is going strong but am looking to change for a V70.
