ST Brake Upgrade Knocking?
The other day I was testing the brake out with some heavy braking. Since then I get a knock when braking, this isn't every time but if I'm reversing onto the drive and apply the brakes I get a knock and then it wont knock again until I go forward and apply the brakes again. It seems to be directional but cant work out where it is coming from?
I bled the brakes today and all was fine. I'd say there is a bit of travel in the brakes before you get to the biting point. I'm not sure if I'm meant to have this travel in the peddle or not and not sure what is causing this knocking noise?

Its your pads that are knocking. It should stop in a bit with normal driving.

I thought as much as the caliper and disc's all seem solid. It doesn't happen all the time, just now and again.
I still think the peddle feels a little 'spongy' though? The MOT is due in Feb so may just wait until then and get the whole system checked out....?

Had that on the last car mate, its deffo movement in the pads cause they are 1mm too small or something.
You could shim it.. or just leave it.. it doesnt make a difference, i left it on mine until the pads needed changing again

I'd imagine that it doesn't help flooring the brake either lol....
Just been reading/watching up on things on the net and going to adjust the peddle push rod to remove this excess play in the peddle. I don't think its anything with the system as once they bite on there sure do stop on the spot!!
