Default V50 D2 start issue

Hi all

I have a v50 d2 2011.

Bit of back story, Back in August on a motorway journey we stopped at a service station came back to the car after a 30min stop, turned ignition key and despite all the electricals on no engine start. Green flag call, engine fine, electricals fine, CMU forgot how to start the car. Had to start it by key/clutch and someone pressing the relay under the bonnet.
Got it to our local Volvo mechanic and they had to flash out the CMU with new firmware to get it to work.

Couple of weeks ago we started getting intermittent issues very occasionally 2-3 times of key/clutch to get it started. Yesterday took my daughter to school in the morning and went to go pick her up 8hrs later and nothing. Electrics all working but dead engine.

So tried the same trick and worked first time. Brief trip to shops to grab some bits before heading to the garage. Turned off the engine expecting to have to use same trick but engine started first time.

So now I'm wondering if it is the battery and thought I would ask the Volvo hive mind.

Has anyone had any similar issues?
