Default C30 Air Conditioning issue.

Hi all,

Now that it is summer I’ve learned my A/C doesn’t work.

Straight away had it pressure tested and re-gassed, all good, holds pressure fine.

Compressor wasn’t initially engaging but after 2 minutes of idling at 2000 rpm and re-gassing it now comes on intermittently.

The compressor regardless will engage for 2 seconds, then disengage for 2 seconds.

It continues like this for as long as I have the A/C button on.

I’m thinking it might be the clutch gap but it didn’t work at all until it was re gassed.

Maybe it could be a relay or a switch?

If anyone could help it would save my summer

Hi, maybe stupid question but when the system was pressure tested was it properly vac'd down afterward and correct amount of refrigerant put back in?

That’s exactly what my car was doing. A friend of mine who designs such systems for automotive use heard it and immediately said it was low on refrigerant.

I dropped it in for a refill the next day, and sure enough, not enough refrigerant in it... emptied out, vac’d down, and refilled, it’s been tickety-boo ever since...
