Cannot connect Dice to Vida in my C30 1.6d '09
Hello all,
Stresssssing out with this Dice and Vida 2014d! Just bought a Dice and Vida off ebay and have struggled to get the thing installed, then struggled to login, now struggling to connect Dice. I have got everything installed textbook; win7 pro 64bit, 197gb free, 4gb ram, IE10. .Net framework in registry I see up to 4.0, but when I try and install 4.5 it only offers me to repair or uninstall, so I guess it must be installed somewhere. I had a nightmare trying to login as admin, which I discovered was an issue with the Patch that was included in the bought packaged, apparently something to do with an old outdated date. I found a new Patch online with an expiry date of 2099, and login is now successful. Trying to connect the Dice in the car with key turned to position ll, I am just seeing a black cross in the communications tool box window, under vehicle profile tab. On the Dice itself I get the green LED when first plugged in, and when key turned to position ll I see the green and orange LEDs flashing. But no connection. When I first plugged in the Dice into the laptop an up to date driver was installed which I can see in my device manager. I had the Dice plugged in for less than 5 mins, with no connection to Vice, only LEDs flashing, and received a Low Battery message on car computer and radio screen. Looking in the hidden menu the other day (hold read and press rear fog twice) I saw errors in several modules and also the Low Battery message then. Car is still turning over fine, but I do have an accelerator pedal sensor issue which is causing the car to idle at 1500rpm, hence the reason for the Dice and Vida purchase. I think this is unrelated and dice connection is more of a software issue, but I am currently stumped. I have seen online about creating the EnableIEHosting in the registry but this had no effect. And also about moving the tskill..mui file in system32 etc. (Can't remember the actual file paths now) but again, no joy! I really hope someone can give me an idea of what's wrong or have some other things to try. Sorry if this is a bit long but trying to be as detailed as poss. Any help very much appreciate. Thanks. You must have a 13.8 volt power supply connected across the battery when using VIDA ...

I'm thinking maybe reinstall and use only the one working patch, maybe installing 2 different software patches is causing a conflict somewhere.

That's why my buyers buy from me.
A guaranteed working Dice, instructions which resolve or totally avoid all of the issues you're having and ongoing support with teething problems. Sure the eBay deal is cheaper but I'm surprised you didn't see the value in what I offer.

I totally saw the value in your offer! That's why I commented your name in my last post re accelerator pedal sensor and revs stuck on 1500rpm. I also tried to contact you via private message but unfortunately this forum doesn't allow private messages until you have 30 posts. I had 22 so thought I'd post 8 pointless posts just to be able to message you, but after the first I thought this will take too long and need to sort this dangerous issue asap as the car keeps speeding up when I take my foot off the accelerator pedal, and so just bought one off ebay. At £68 I would have paid an extra £32 for hassle free. I also followed the link you gave me in another post to your dice and vida thread but saw someone else had requested your dice and vida 4 days previously with no reply from you, and so was another influencing factor in me turning to ebay. I've got an honours degree in software development so I know I'll sort it out, been here 101 times before. It's still a pain in the arse though lol. Maybe admin can take a look at the 30 post limit requirements to save someone else the hassle. Thanks |

No one is left without a reply and every enquiry on my sales threads gets a private reply usually within 15 minutes and I give them my private email address if they can't use the forum mail system due to the 30 post limit restriction. Basically, all you needed to do was leave a comment on the link I gave you or any of the 3 other sales threads and not over think it.
