Default factory accessory electrical sockets

My Discovery has a socket in the fusebox to allow owners to fit accessories - it has an ignition switched live, a permanent live and an earth connector. Its there to allow 'professionals' (their words lol) to fit an aftermarket phone kit and such like.

I was wondering if there is such a thing in an S40? I want a switched live in the under dash area for my dashcam so that I can free up a cigar lighter socket, plus I want another switched live in the boot area to power a rear facing dashcam.

I'm new to CANBUS wiring so don't want to just hack into any old piece of wire

Thanks in advance

Hello there,

Instead of tapping into "unknown" wire, maybe you could use piggyback fuse tap wiring? Certainly safer and you will be sure it is in a correct place.

Link to the item: https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=fuse+ta...77&tag=csdc-21

Cheers
