Default Disconnected Pipe

Hi all. When looking at my support battery on my 2017 XC90 this morning I noticed this disconnected pipe. Am I right in thinking it should be connected to whatever that is on the left of it? No idea why it’s off like it is

Thanks. So I’m right that it needs to be connected to the ‘thing’ on the left of it? What does a powerpulse hose actually do? (Sorry it that’s a stupid question &#128514

The issue with it that complete hose needs to be replaced, you cannot just plug it back.

https://www.carmagazine.co.uk/car-ne...-car-may-2016/

But you can drive with that hose disconnected, no big issues

Again, thanks for your reply. Why cannot it just be reattached and secured with an alternative fastener such as a jubilee clip or the like?

There is very high pressure in that hose.
And this hose is a bit curved, thats created additional load on hose itself.

You can try of course to make it via alternative fastner, but it should be very good.

It passes high pressure air from a reservoir into the turbos so that they spin up faster if you accelerate hard. Only works at speeds below ~15mph to provide faster 'getaways'.

As said above, the car will run okay without it. The electric compressor that feeds the reservoir will be disabled to prevent further damage and an error code will be logged. Don't try repairing it; it's not really do-able and it won't work anyway until the error code has been cleared by a dealer.

Also, as it's a known fault you may get a discount for the repair.

Hi. I am looking at buying an Icarsoft V3 OBD scanner. Can anyone tell me if it will clear the fault / reactivate this module or is it a dealer only thing

I wouldn't plug anything that's not main dealer approved into the car, seen some horror stories when plugging Chinese tat into the port.
