Thanks for the useful input guys!

Yes, it makes sense that a good prep work/thorough cleaning is essential. I was planning on waiting till spring to machine polish the paint and then prep/wash and apply the coating.

Any of you applied this stuff to glass as well? I have read that a lot of these coatings are effective on glass too - maybe not all?

Cheers!

It's this stuff, right? https://gyeonquartz.com/product/cancoat/

It wears off after six months? I suppose you just re-apply it after - or you need to go through the prep phase again?

That's the one. Other users have suggested that 6 months is conservative, but once its effectiveness has diminished you can decontaminate, use the Q2M Prep and reapply.

You could mechanically polish off but this would hard going.

I have applied it to the side windows too - works well.

I have had my last 3 cars ceramic coated and always use Clive Ford The Detailer in Stirling, Scotland.

When selling the cars the condition has always been commented on by the dealer and keeping them clean has been so much easier.

Regular maintenance washes is all it needs however I also top up with a sacrificial wax.

My current V90 has Angelwax Enigma Genesis ceramic coating with Angelwax 5th Element wax topping. Carpets I used G technique I1 and seats get a regular coat of G Technique L1.

Windows are coated with H2go.
