The wife's birthday present
Hi all,
I have been on the S60/V70/S80 section of the Forum for a long time now, but have recently acquired another Volvo to complement the S60. So now the wife has a C70 to drive around in, and she loves it! Here she is (the car, not the wife) 20201128_162158~2.jpg

Looks good....
I'm itching about getting another one. I've had two T5 convertibles - had one for two years, sold it, regretted it, bought another, sold it, regret it etc. I have had a look at a couple of Mk2 C70's but they're a completely different car. As a daily driver - probably better - but as a summer weekend cruiser, Mk 1 for me........

Thanks guys, when I can remember how to upload more pictures I will.
I have to say I had never seen one in this particular colour combination, but it is nice, a customer had just bought one a week before in triple black, but ours looks nicer!! I couldn't say no to it when it arrived at work, especially for the price ( I can't say exactly how much but more than £749 and less than £751 )

Lovely looking car. Same colour as mine, got the black interior with mine, but do have the dark blue hood. Really sets the car off.

Well it's been a busy time for the C70, a few big jobs and a few small ones too just for good measure!!
It spent a few weeks at work with me, we tracked the exhaust blow to the front flange on the Cat, it had split around a quarter of the pipe, so that was welded up making the car much quieter! Then the PCV system was sorted, as the pipe connecting the rocker cover to the box had disintegrated, but even after replacing the box and pipes there is still smoke puffing from the dipstick tube, but as I have no oil leaks (touch wood) I am hoping it will clear itself after a couple more oil changes. If not I will have to clear out the oilway where the bottom pipe feeds back into the sump. I also discovered that when the transmission belt was changed, they replaced the water pump with a non genuine one, so that was replaced with a Volvo pump. Thankfully a decent belt and tensioner was used so I saved that expense. And then a full service, coolant and brake fluid change ( but the brakes still are not as good as I would like ) and the removal of the locking wheel nuts to be replaced with standard bolts, and as always 3 were easy but the last one had the sphincter going! As for the small jobs, I have been busy cleaning out drain holes ( the scuttle panel drains were well blocked ) lubricating the roof which wouldn't always quite close the last inch or so depending on where it was parked, lubricating the seats so that they could be tilted forward and moved again, greasing the squeaky wiper mechanism, replacing the blown bulbs ( one in the roof switch and one in the DIM ) treating the rubber seals to a clean and treating them with some Wurth Gummi Pflege which sorted an annoying wind whistle from the passenger side window which happened at 50mph and faster and the electric aerial motor has been greased so that it always goes down Then there has been a lot of washing, scrubbing and polishing. The roof has been cleaned, sealed and waterproofed and the body has been clayed, polished and sealed with ceramic coating. The interior has been thoroughly cleaned and hoovered and the area the roof folds into has been cleaned, the drains cleared through, and then it also has been polished and waxed. There are still bits to do, the drivers side front foglight has a broken glass and needs replacing, and I discovered the bulb has been taken out of the drivers side vanity mirror light as the switch in the visor is broken, meaning the light doesn't go out, which is a pain. It also needs the alloys refurbing, as they have been badly done in the past and the lacquer is pealing off. Oh yes, and I haven't cleaned and fed the leather seats yet. Still, I'm getting there!!
