Default s70 lower rear shock stud broke help

removing the lower nut to replace rear shockers and the bolt / stud snapped, it is now too short to put another nut on to fasten the shocker, how does it come off to replace ? anyone had this before ? if so, appreciate how to sort it cheers

The stud is welded to and part of the suspension arm - it is not available separately.

I don't know if the arrangement is the same as the C70, if it is you should be able to drift or knock out the broken bolt and simply replace that bolt - if it is a capped retained/spot welded stud, having cracked the weld you will need to either use a stud extractor or drill out the remains of the stud, wind out the remaining thread and then substitute the retained stud for a nut & bolt - I can't access my copy of Vida at the moment......... Win7 & laptop crash - doh! but maybe just maybe there is someone out there who could look up the part number and provide an image to see exactly with what you are being confronted.
IMHO if all else, as above, drilling out the stud and replacing with a high tensile nut and bolt is probably the easiest solution.

I had checked on VIDA before I posted above. There is no separate part number for the stud, it is part of the suspension arm. It will need a locally made up stud to replace and welded into place.

Default stud

i just cannot work out if it is on splines or threads. i have cut off the head on the outside but it is cone shaped on the inside and not sure if a bolt goes through the centre of the cone shape. i do not want to damage cone shape on inside so and trying to figure out how or if i can push it out with my press. doesnt seem to be signs of any weld

The mounting stud is welded on and cannot be replaced, you can't used a bolt as the stud is tapered to fit the shock absorber mount.
You will probably have to replace the whole trailing arm.

A temporary fix could be to install shocker us a thick washer and mig it to the remaining stud or drill it out hellicoil and use new bolt maybe both are not ideal I would speak to Adam @ Readview Garage Accrington he breaks them may have a replacement part
