Post 52mm Gauge Mounting Feet

Hi all,

Just a quick one this time. I've recently acquired a 52mm Volvo Penta voltage gauge which I intend to put in the second 52mm slot beside the central air vents. As I understand it, from the factory Volvo used three rubber feet to mount these gauges; however, I have found an alternative source of 'rubber foot'.

Some electronic components come in plastic tubes (as in the first attached image). Particularly for Surface Mount Devices (SMD), these tubes are often plugged with rubber stoppers. Unfortunately, the thru-hole chips tend to have plastic pins put through the ends of the tubes, so these aren't necessarily a reliable source.

As can be seen in the second attached image, these have a remarkably good fit in the slots for the original rubber feet. They slide in and out easily enough but also have enough friction to hold themselves in place once mounted. The ends protrude from the slots as well meaning they will actually hold and support the gauges, preventing them from moving or rattling around.

The only downside I have found is that they can come in different widths (to plug different-width tubes). If you can find the wider ones though, these are definitely a good source. One rubber stop in each slot should be sufficient, although you could possibly even fit two in each slot.

If I do find a link and part number for bulk purchasing these rubber stops, you guys (and gals) will be the first to know.
