In the saga of my periodic engine system service urgent message, at last something more definitive going on. When the engine is hot after a run it shows a performance reduced message when trying to restart. Maybe ETM I thought, in spite of having installed a contactless sensor about 5000 miles ago. What really confuses me is that after waiting for it to cool, restarts fine and message is gone.

Any ideas gratefully received. Car is a 2001 2.4T V70 auto.
Thanks
Richard

Possibly a water pump problem? I had the same on a BMW I had where it would lose power as it got hotter, to the point it was gonna stall. Apparently the vanes had rotted off the water pumps impellers causing it to lose power & if not left to cool down, do irreparable damage to the engine. Needless to say, this was sorted asap!
